RICHARD AMOR (b. 1990) is a painter, whose practice balances surrealist figure studies and slices of life living in the East End of London. In 2023, he was one of 25 artists selected to win the Boomer Gallery Art Prize, in part by legendary art critic Anthony Fawcett.
Falling in love with drawing as a child, moving to Barcelona at age 24 coincided with a move to oil on canvas. While in Barcelona, he began exhibiting, most notably at a TEDx event, and taking paid commissions, as well as being a member of now-defunct art collective, UMANO.
After a brief stint in Portugal and spending the beginning of the pandemic in the Midlands, Amor now spends most of his time on a houseboat on the Regent's Canal, in the East End of London. When not on a boat, he paints the area's places and faces as part of his UNDERBELLY project, helping him to swiftly become one of East London's newest cult figures.
