Amor's statement

"The Arches are a series of spaces occupied by other artists, musicians, carpenters, mechanics, photographers and the occasional rat. It is an oasis of creativity amongst the intense development of the area, and a community of people who have all become good friends and comrades in the fight to survive in a rapidly changing city.

UNDERBELLY, a now regular solo show, started life as a project painting the exotic characters and endangered haunts of the East End. The paintings I produced (below) were put on show to the public when I opened my studio doors for the first time, and the name stuck.

UNDERBELLY has become a popular attraction in the area, resonating with both locals old and new, tourists, art lovers of all ages, and even the neighbourhood crackheads. Not only do I open my studio, but I hang my work along the canal for all to see, and often invite other local artists to exhibit alongside me."
